now that I've opted to return to a business school and give my university journey a clean slate.
In today's digital marketing
landscape, social media
has taken the spotlight as the most powerful and effective means of reaching
customers. Using digital marketing techniques companies can boost sales and
promote customer engagement. Digital marketing is a field that's constantly
growing and never really seems to go out of vogue.
Once I've finished my study in
digital marketing, I'd prefer to work as a freelancer or a social media marketing/content writing Specialist. I have the ability to seize
opportunities as they arise and adjust my strategy as and when necessary. I can
amass a portfolio of prior work that I can use as a reference for future
projects by working as a freelancer in the field of digital marketing.
I chose to go from HR to
digital marketing after nine years of expertise in human resources, customer
relations, and administrative positions. I was willing to tackle the new field
and start from scratch even though I knew it would be difficult. My love for
social media marketing and content
creation led me to discover that digital marketing is the ideal career
for me. I was seeking for a platform where I could choose between working on my
own or as an employee of a reputable company with a variety of job
alternatives, like Content
creator, SEO
specialist, Social
media marketer, Email
marketer, PPC
specialist, and digital
marketing professional. Thus, I chose to enrol in a digital marketing program
at University of Salford.
Literally, the University of Salford's Search and Social Media Marketing Module
in MSc Digital Marketing
is what drew me to this university to get a master's degree in Digital
Marketing and pursue my ideal career in this industry.
I decided to pursue digital
marketing because of my own experience with marketing. Due to my passion for designing
custom-made clothes, I started an online boutique for designer clothing called “LushQue Designer
Boutique” since 2018. It was my hobby and it has been successfully running online
ever since. Without any theoretical background, I managed the marketing for my
own boutique. I managed to grow sales for my boutique by using different
platforms and strategies, enabling me to connect with the correct clientele. This
showed me that there was an untapped potential within this industry that needed
more people like me who could take advantage of it. At this point, I understood
that marketing is a skill that I can utilize to enhance a career in Digital Marketing Industry.
I would like to discuss how my
current coursework in digital marketing at University of Salford would prepare
me for a future career in the industry.
One of my best life decisions
was to enroll in MSc digital marketing at the University of Salford. My first
module, "Digital
Marketing Communications," taught by Sean Chung enlightened me and
assisted me in gaining a thorough understanding of the ways in which businesses
use digital marketing
communications channels, the suitability and application of those
channels, and how technology is used to establish relationships with clients.
This blog is actually a part
of the assignment. I am currently in the second module "search and social
media marketing" taught by Professor Mirage Islam. This module’s prime
focus is personal branding
by using appropriate keywords to boost my profile and put it at the top of the search
engine results page(SERP).
The goal of the SBS digital
marketing course is to give students the chance to interact with people from
all cultures and nations while also fostering their ability to communicate both
orally and in writing and to think analytically. Additionally, The aim
of the course is to give students an understanding of digital marketing,
including how it functions and its applications. I'll learn about SEO and how
to use it successfully, as well as social media marketing strategies like paid
advertisements and content creation. The curriculum will also assist me in
honing my own abilities so that I may find freelance jobs, whether it's writing articles for outlets
that have a strong need for content writers or creating videos for clientele.
University of Salford's
coursework is tailored particularly for the digital marketing sector, which
helps me understand exactly what I need to know to be successful in this
field—and how to use those abilities once I've finished this program. Furthermore, by applying the knowledge to
real-world assignments and projects, By the time I graduate, I'll be qualified
for anything, which will enable me to determine if this is really the best
track for my career.
Last but not least, I still
have work to do with University of Salford. This course consists mostly of four
modules; after completing them, I will have acquired information and practical
skills. The executive summary of this module covers developing a personal brand for myself
as a digital marketer
and optimizing my profiles on various social media sites. I will be able to use
what I learn in the classroom to further my professional career in digital
marketing, which is an essential aspect of their program.
I can state with confidence
that the Digital Marketing
Course with SBS will undoubtedly change me into a new version of myself
that will enable me to position myself better in a new career that is
completely unrelated to my past career experiences.
